Habit and juveniles. Perennial vine. Juvenile branchlets with 0 prickles per dm. Juvenile leaves ovate, or broadly ovate; deeply lobed throughout; with 1–2 pairs of lobes; lamina 5–7 cm long; lamina 4–6 cm wide; with 0 prickles on upper surface.

Pedicels at anthesis 10–15 mm long; prickles absent. Calyx tube at anthesis 2–3 mm long. Calyx lobes at anthesis hemispherical, or deltate; 1–1.5 mm long. Calyx prickles at anthesis absent. Calyx stellae absent. Calyx simple hairs absent. Calyx Type 2 hairs absent. Corolla white; 9–15 mm long; shallowly lobed; inner surface with simple hairs. Anthers 2–4 mm long. Ovary glabrous. Functional style 5 mm long.
Fruits. Fruiting calyx prickles absent. Mature fruits 10–30 per inflorescence; globular; 6–9 mm diameter; black, or purple; shiny. Pedicels at fruiting stage 15 mm long. Seeds white, or pale yellow; 2–3 mm long.
Distribution and habitat. New South Wales, Victoria. North Coast (NC), Central Coast (CC), South Coast (SC).
