Unsatisfactorily identified Curtis Hymenoptera

Unsatisfactorily resolved. Numbers refer to the first edition of Curtis's British Entomology. Inclusion in this list means that the nomenclatural combination quoted from him has not been satisfactorily resolved, despite exhaustive pursuit of the Kloet and Hincks Check Lists (1945 and subsequent updates) and the other works to hand (see References).

129, Andrena kirbii Stephens mss (Kirbian Andrena Bee: cf. Andrena (e.g., flavipes, ferox, gravida, but at about 14 mm, the figured insect seems too big); alternatively a Melitta? 564, Bombus ericetorum Panzer? (Heath Humble-bee, Apidae or Megachilidae? (Seemingly not the mainland-European B. hypnorum (Linn.) ssp. ericetorum Panzer; cf. Chalicodoma ericetorum Lep., but it does appear to exhibit 3 submarginal cells of the Megachilidae). 457, Cladius pilicornis Curtis (Simple Hairy-horned Cladius, Tenthredinidae: cf. C. difformis or C. pecticornis?). 93, Clavellaria marginata Linn. (Yellow-margined Sawfly: Cimbicidae, cf. Pseudoclavellaria?). 194, Cleonymus maculipennis Curtis (Spotted-winged Cleonymus: presumed Pteromalidae). 58, Cryptus pallipes Leach (Pale-legged Cryptus: Argidae, cf. Sterictiphora furcata?). 436, Emphytus fasciatus Le Pel. (Tenthredinidae: Banded Tenthredo). 13, Eumenes atricornis Fab. (Eumenidae?). 407, Lampronota crenicornis Hal. mss (Ichneumonidae: Broken-horned Lampronota). 460, Orussus coronatus Fab. (Coronetted Oryssus, Orussidae: probably O. abietinus Scop.). 512, Rogas balteatus Hal. mss (Red-and-black Rhogas: Braconidae). 30, Xyela pusilla Dalman (Small Xyela: Xyelidae).
